Executive Committee Meetings

The Executive Committee of the JCB meets regularly throughout the year.  As a result of feedback from clubs, we will provide a summary of Executive Committee meetings below.

2015 AGM

The Jersey Cricket Board's 2015 AGM was held on on 3 June 2015.

The Chairman thanked those present for attending and noted that 2014 had been a very busy and successful year.  He thanked all those who had supported Jersey Cricket and continue to do so in 2015.

The Treasurer presented the 2014 accounts which had been audited by Alex Picot.  It was noted that due to Jersey’s promotions in World Cricket League tournaments, more funds had been received from the ICC but there had been more expenditure on high performance.  All costs were in line with budget.  The accounts were approved.

The Treasurer recommended that Alex Picot be reappointed as auditors and this was approved.

20 May 2015

Player of the Month presentations 2014 and May 2015: these will be held on June 13th after the match at Grainville.  Ron Halliwell will contact those players who will be receiving awards.
2015 dinner:  25th Sept from 6pm to 9pm in The Drift, Royal Yacht.  The format will be drinks and canapés.  Further details to follow.
KD Foundation: successful event had been hosted at the recent T20 tournament.  This is something the Executive Committee would like to see repeated at future suitable events.
Disciplinary policy: following feedback from clubs, some elements of the policy will be updated.  The policy will be implemented and will be reviewed at the end of the year.
Finance Committee: audit of the 2014 accounts is nearing completion.  Accounts will be presented at the AGM on 3rd June.
Leagues Committee: club initial accounts will be sent out shortly.  Handbooks have arrived and will be circulated by Ron.  It was noted that there is likely to be a delay in drainage works at Grainville originally scheduled for August 2015.
Development Committee: some junior Jersey fixtures v UK schools will now be passed to other schools to ensure standards between sides are more evenly matched.  Two coaching courses will be held in 2015 – an ICC Europe coach award and a UKCC Level 2 award.
Representative Committee: the fantastic success of the senior squad in the recent T20 tournament was noted and congratulations were sent to all those involved.  The success presents its own problems with staffing and player selection as the World T20 tournament in Ireland/Scotland clashes with the European U19 tournament in Jersey.  These issues are being addressed urgently.

9 September 2015

2015 dinner: 25th September from 6.30pm to 9pm in The Drift, Royal Yacht.  All are encouraged to support the event at a cost of only £10 per person to include buffet.

Finance Committee: income and sponsorship in line with budget.  High performance expenditure above budget due to preparations for World T20 Qualifier.  Tournament budgets have been signed off by ICC.

Leagues Committee: post-season meeting will be organised shortly.  Imperative that results are input via CricHQ in a timely fashion. Exceptional international tournament commitments this year have impacted on domestic cricket.

JACO: Development programmes for umpires and scorers need to be looked at.

Development Committee: good summer of cricket in 2015 with numbers generally up on last year with the exception of the summer school which had been affected by international tournaments.

Representative Committee: successes of senior side and junior sides noted.  Chairman of selectors would like winter squad will be larger which will lead to increased competition for places.  Neil MacRae was thanked for all his work in a very successful 2015.

Sponsorship: important to maintain current sponsors whilst at the same time finding new ones.

Other Business: two screenings of the documentary film ‘Death of a Gentleman’ will be held on 14th and 15th October in the Don Theatre at Fort Regent at a cost of £10 per person (including booking fee).  Tickets to purchase via Eventbrite.

2 March 2016

2015 dinner: feedback had been received following this event.  Consider same style but alternative, smaller venue.

NatWest sponsorship: confirmed for 2016.

Finance Committee: small surplus noted.  Accounts to be sent to auditors shortly.

Leagues Committee: Evening League may be reviewed to due to decline in numbers.   All media to be advised of results and scores which should also be added to JCB website.

JACO:  Clubs to encourage recruitment of umpires and scorers and courses to be scheduled more appropriately.  Previous candidates to be contacted again.

Sponsorship: NatWest sponsorship confirmed for 2016 and with Ana Leaf for two years. Discussions ongoing with additional potential sponsors.

Other Business: ICC inspection ahead of World Cricket League Division 5 had gone well.  Website discussions continuing to secure best alternatives.  Jon Prince has resigned as Vice Chairman.
